The opportunity to place participants at the Richmond Hospice shop three times a week has proven to be mutually advantageous. Friendships have been made with other volunteers where social communication and interest in others is fostered. Our participants have a wide and varied list of jobs which ensure the smooth running of the hospice. These include rubbish removal, daily banking, restocking shelves, general tidying and many other tasks. Our participants are part of a vital and important service to the community and have a great feeling of worth and value, they are very aware of the role they play in helping in a voluntary capacity in their community.
